Our Educational Philosophy, Mission & Vision

At Mathesis College, our primary objective is to prepare our students holistically for the challenges of tomorrow. We place learner wellbeing at the core of everything we do, promising compassion and a steadfast commitment to always acting in the best interest of every child. Our ultimate goal is for every single student to achieve a university exemption, empowering them to pursue their first-choice career path with happiness, confidence and the skill set to succeed

Empowering Students for a Brighter Future

Mathesis College was established in 2017 and is a registered independent school under the GDE with a reputation for excellence. The school was founded on the primary objective of preparing students holistically, ensuring that every student attains the skills, values and mindset to pursue their goals with learner wellbeing at our core.

Mathesis College has since grown considerably, applying our principles and methods to our full time students and to an array of additional educational services such as tutoring and workshops, supporting learners around the country. We have also developed non-academic workshops which cover important life skills with a complete focus on application.

Our unique academic and practical approach to education and development is solely built upon the understanding that these crucial years will shape the path and values that a learner follows into adulthood.

The Mathesis Advantage: Why It Matters to Your Family

01

Efficient Learning & Tailored Results

Smaller classrooms grant our teachers the freedom to adapt lesson plans, ensuring student do not get left behind.

02

Positive Relationships & Leadership Mentorship

By fostering close-knit, highly constructive interactions between our faculty and students, we build lifelong confidence, active communication and essential leadership skills.

03

Transparent Parent-Teacher Communication

Smaller student cohorts ensure that our educators have the dedicated time to provide meaningful feedback, keeping parents informed and involved in their child’s growth throughout each term.

Academic Framework & CAPS Curriculum Details

National Curriculum Assessment Policy Statements (CAPS):

College is fully registered with the Department of Education. We offer a rigorous, comprehensive CAPS curriculum that thoroughly equips learners for their academic journey.

The National Senior Certificate (NSC)

Our academic track culminates in the globally and locally recognized National Senior Certificate (NSC) issued by Umalusi. This qualification ensures our qualified graduates entry eligibility into all South African universities and opens doors to top-tier international institutions.

Four-Term School Calendar

We operate on the standard, structured four-term school year layout, aligning with provincial expectations and keeping student routines well-balanced. Developer Note: Inset a dedicated photo gallery module next to this section displaying circular images of interactive student life (e.g., science lab microscope work, classroom group discussions) to break up the text blocks visually.

Our grade 12’s achieved 100% pass with more than 62% of learners studying towards a degree programme. This is achieved by consistently reviewing results each term beginning in grade 10, calculating university admission points scores and objectively ensuring that students are meeting these criteria for their chosen degree every year.

Accomplishing academic goals each year with early intervention is particularly important in the FET phase as progression is built upon the previous years material.
